School Supplies

FMIS School Supply List

K-6 School Supplies

Fort McMurray Islamic School has streamlined the purchasing of school supplies for our students. For grades K-6, we will purchase stationary products for the classroom such as pencils, markers, crayons, paper, rulers, erasers, notebooks, duo tangs, geometry sets, etc. This would make sure everyone has the same required stationery to complete normal in-class learning activities.

We are not looking to buy individualized items such as backpacks, clothing, runners, water bottles, etc. Parents and guardians will still be responsible for purchasing these items separately.

The cost of supplies for the school year are:

Kindergarten - $50 per child
Grades 1-6 - $75 per child. This includes the student agenda fee; however, students must buy their own headphones for classroom use.

*Junior High - We are not providing supplies for JH at this time, and parents/guardians will be responsible for the supplies.  See the list below.

Parents/Guardians will have the convenience of paying online through the Parent Portal or in the school office.

To log into your account or to create a new account, please go to the link HERE.  There are also instructions on how to log in/create an account at this link.  Paying online is the preferred form of payment but we will still accept payment at the FMIS office.

Other schools within the FMPSD have been providing this service to parents/guardians with great success. If we pay in the large quantities needed for a school our size, we are able to get better prices for the supplies

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
