Wendy Strickland
Hello FMIS Students and Parents!
Welcome back! I'm Ms. Wendy Strickland, your Learning Assistance Coordinator (LAC Teacher) here at FMIS, and I'm thrilled to also be your morning Kindergarten teacher again this year!
Originally from beautiful Newfoundland, I completed my Bachelor of Science at Memorial University before heading to Calgary, Alberta, where I earned my Master of Teaching through the BEd Program at the University of Calgary. My teaching journey began as a teacher on call with the Calgary Board of Education, eventually leading me to an exciting role in a Grade 4/5 Gifted Education Program. In 2008, I moved to Northern Alberta, where I've had the pleasure of working with Northland School Division and Fort McMurray Public School Division.
Since 2010, I've been part of the FMIS family, and every day here is a joy! I’m passionate about collaborating with our amazing staff, students, and parents to foster growth and learning.
When I'm not in the classroom, you’ll find me travelling, enjoying music, exploring the great outdoors, or spending quality time with my family, especially my daughter.
If you have any questions or want to chat, don’t hesitate to contact me by phone at (780) 750-3888 or via email at wendy.strickland@fmpsd.ab.ca. Let’s make this school year incredible together!
Warmest regards,
Ms. Wendy Strickland
