Phone: 780-750-3888

My name is Brad St. Denis. I began my teaching career with FMPSD in 2006 after graduating with my Bachelor's in Education at the University of Alberta. Fort McMurray is where I met my wife and where we are currently raising our two wonderful Children. Before coming to FMIS, I taught 1-8 PE and Jr. High English Language Arts at Thickwood Heights School (2006-2011), and Jr/SR High English and Social Studies at Ecole McTavish (2011-2021). For the 2021-2022 School year, I continued my learning journey as Vice Principal at Ecole Dickinsfield.

I transferred to the Fort McMurray Islamic School in 2022 in the role of Vice-Principal and have loved my role with the school and community. I will do my best to support our students and community members, if you have any questions or require support in any way please do not hesitate to reach out.

I am excited to be a part of the FMIS family and community and look forward to continuing working with the students and staff at our school.

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
