This is my 14th year as an educator with FMPSD. In 2009, I started my career as a teacher at the Fort McMurray Islamic School and taught multiple grade levels. In 2014, I moved to Composite High School as vice-principal and a junior high math-science teacher. Two years later, in 2016, I moved back to the Fort McMurray Islamic School as principal. My deepest passion is nurturing little minds, seeing students grow and succeed, and helping others whenever possible.

I believe that every child should have access to fair and equitable educational opportunities and our schools’ culture and climate should support the diversity and social-emotional development of all students.

My students’ smiles, curiosity, and excitement always make me appreciate my profession and workdays. I admire seeing kids grow physically and academically in such a beautiful way. I strongly believe in building and maintaining great relationships with staff, students, parents and other community members because it is our caring for others that motivates us to work as hard as we do.
