Grade 4 & 5 Teacher

My name is Vicki Crawford and I have recently accepted my position at FMIS as the homeroom teacher for 4L during Mr. Deveau’s absence. I also teach grade 5 science and health for 5K. I moved to Fort McMurray in August 2017 to accompany my husband as he obtained a new position at the local hospital. I worked for 4 years with the Fort McMurray Catholic School Division as a grade 3 teacher. Prior to moving to Fort McMurray, I had a wonderful experience teaching in northern Quebec in a fly in /out Inuit community. I was a special education teacher for the English students and supported the teachers for grades 3-11. I was with the Kativik School Board in Quebec for 1.5 years.

I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences in science and health as I was a RN (registered nurse) for 28 years. I worked in many provinces as my husband was an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and we moved every 2-3 years. I am a mother to 2 grown children and consider them to be my greatest gift. This unique lifestyle allowed me many opportunities to meet, work with or care for people of diverse cultures, languages and beliefs. I am the person that I am now as a result of my experiences. I have always been a person of integrity, honesty, possessing strong communication skills and viewed as a trusting and caring person. I entered into teaching children with a desire to make a difference in the lives of my students and to help them to learn to reach their potential and to be the future leaders of our world.
